Победителем Гран-при Европы Формулы-1 в Баку стал пилот Mercedes Нико Росберг

Пилот из команды Mercedes, Нико Росберг, стал победителем Гран-при Европы Формулы 1 в Баку. Мероприятие проходило в столице Азербайджана в течение последних трех дней. Президент Ильхам Алиев принял личное участие в церемонии награждения победителей. Себастьян Феттель (из команды Ferrari) занял второе место, Серхио Перес (из команды India) занял третье место.

Трасса для гонок была построена вокруг старого города в Баку, окруженная историческими памятниками, что стало потрясающим фоном для мероприятия. Миллионы людей во всем мире наблюдали за гонками в прямом эфире телевидения.

Критики же правительства Азербайджана воспользовалась случаем и напомнили о проблемах в области прав человека в стране, указывая на то, что в стране имеется ряд политических заключенных. Они также отметили, что мероприятие стоило много денег, которые можно было бы потратить намного лучше на решение социальных вопросов. Однако, в пятницу президент Алиев отметил, что расходы были оправданы, так как мероприятие поможет привлечь туристов в Азербайджан.
