В Анкаре проходит встреча Столтенберга с Эрдоганом

В четверг, в Анкаре, состоялась встреча генерального секретаря НАТО Йенса Столтенберга с президентом Турции Реджепом Тайипом Эрдоганом.

В ходе встречи Столтенберг заявил, что НАТО продолжит в знак солидарности поддерживать Турцию, увеличив военно-морское и военно-воздушное присутствие, а также разместит оборонительные ракетные системы на границе с Сирией.

Генеральный секретарь также подтвердил позицию НАТО, осуждающая недавнюю попытку государственного переворота, выразив соболезнования семьям погибших, и уважение мужеству турецкого народа. "Любые нападки на демократию, в какой-либо из наших стран, это нападение на саму основу нашего альянса. Сильная и демократическая Турция имеет важное значение для стабильности и безопасности Европы и региона", сказал он.

В пятницу г-н Столтенберг встретится с премьер-министром Бинали Йылдырымом, с министром иностранных дел Мевлют Чавушоглу, с министром обороны Фикри Ышик и с другими высшими должностными лицами.

The talks come the day after both attended a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the nearby Chinese city of Tianjin, and the day before a grand Chinese military parade in Beijing to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
