Меркель призывает к более тесному диалогу между ЕС и Турцией для поддержания каналов связи

Канцлер Германии Ангела Меркель в понедельник выразила поддержку более тесному диалогу между ЕС и Турцией, несмотря на недавнюю напряженность между Анкарой и европейскими столицами, сообщает Daily Sabah.

"Мы не можем скрывать наши разногласия, но каналы связи должны оставаться открытыми, потому что мы зависим друг от друга", - сказала Меркель на пресс-конференции в Берлине.

Ее слова прозвучали в преддверии ключевого саммита ЕС-Турция, который должен пройти 26 марта в Варне, Болгария, на котором состоится встреча лидеров ЕС и президента Реджепа Тайип Эрдогана.

Канцлер Германии высоко оценила усилия Турции по размещению более 3 миллионов беженцев, которые бежали от гражданской войны в Сирии.

"Турция проделала большую работу с беженцами", - сказала она, подчеркнув, что ЕС по-прежнему привержен к соглашению о беженцах с Турцией, включая ее финансовые обязательства.
