Грузия призвала армию для борьбы с лесными пожарами

В среду (23 августа), Парламент Грузии единогласно принял резолюцию, поддерживающую просьбу президента Грузии о развертывании вооруженных сил в поддержку гражданских властей для борьбы с крупными лесными пожарами в нескольких регионах Грузии. Президент поддержал официальный запрос правительства.

Предвидя такое решение, солдаты вооруженных сил в одночасье были вовлечены в борьбу с пожарами в Боржоми, а также в Атенском ущелье, в районе Шида Картли Грузии. Еще один очаг огня был зафиксировоан в лесной зоне недалеко от деревни Бошури, около Гори.

Источники в правительстве Грузии сообщили, что в Атенском ущелье удалось ликвидировать пожар, но на всякий случай было решено оставить на местах силы для мониторинга ситуации.

Борьба с пожарами демонстрирует редкий момент регионального сотрудничества. Помимо солдат, пожарных и сотрудников гражданских служб Грузии, в борьбу с пожарами также вовлечены 95 пожарных из Азербайджана и 70 из Армении вместе со спец-техникой, которую они привезли с собою. В тушении пожаров также задействованы вертолеты из Турции, Азербайджана и Беларуси.

Специальная группа по чрезвычайным ситуациям с участием премьер-министра Квирикашвили управляет драматической операцией по ликвидации пожаров, за которой с большим беспокойством следит вся грузинская общественность.
