ЕС предоставит гуманитарную помощь населению, пострадавшему от карабахского конфликта

Европейский Союз объявил о выделении чрезвычайной гуманитарной помощи гражданскому населению, пострадавшему в результате конфликта между армянами и азербайджанцами на Южном Кавказе. Помощь направлена ​​населению по обе стороны конфликта. Финансирование позволит предоставить медицинское обслуживание, медицинское оборудование, продуктовые наборы и другую неотложную помощь нескольким тысячам человек.

Комиссар по урегулированию кризисов Янез Ленарчич сказал: "Боевые действия в зоне нагорно-карабахского конфликта уже унесли жизни мирных жителей. Необходимо соблюдать международное гуманитарное право и обеспечить защиту гражданской жизни и инфраструктуры. ЕС солидарен со всеми пострадавшими людьми от происходящего насилия и готов оказать дальнейшую гуманитарную поддержку, если человеческие страдания продолжатся. Мы призываем к немедленному прекращению боевых действий".

Первоначальное финансирование в размере 500 000 евро поможет гуманитарным партнерам ЕС, таким как Международный комитет Красного Креста, оказать немедленную помощь пострадавшим в результате боевых действий. Все гуманитарное финансирование ЕС предоставляется в соответствии с гуманитарными принципами гуманности, нейтралитета, беспристрастности и независимости и направляется через международные организации, агентства ООН и НПО.
