Азербайджан и ЕС начинают переговоры по всеобъемлющему соглашению

Европейский Союз начинает переговоры с Азербайджаном о всеобъемлющем соглашении, которое должно будет заменить соглашение о партнерстве и сотрудничестве от 1996 года.

В понедельник (14 ноября), Совет Европейского Союза выдал мандат Европейской комиссии и Верховному представителю по иностранным делам и политике безопасности на ведение переговоров от имени ЕС и его государств-членов о всеобъемлющем соглашении с Азербайджанской Республикой.

В заявлении Совета сказано, что "новое соглашение должно заменить соглашение о партнерстве и сотрудничестве от 1996 года и должно больше учитывать общие цели и проблемы, перед которыми стоят сегодня ЕС и Азербайджан. Соглашение будет отвечать принципам, одобренным в 2015 году в документе института Политики европейского соседства, и предложит обновленную основу для политического диалога и взаимовыгодного сотрудничества между ЕС и Азербайджаном."

Данное решение было позитивно воспринято Азербайджаном. Представитель МИД Азербайджана, Хикмет Гаджиев, сообщил журналистам, что "подписание нового соглашения создаст существенную основу для стратегического сотрудничества между ЕС и Азербайджаном, что выведит отношения на новый этап и будет способствовать их всеобъемлющему развитию".
