Комиссия НС Франции приняла законопроект о наказании отрицания факта Геноцида армян

Комиссия по конституционным законам, законодательству и общему управлению республикой Национального Собрания Франции приняла законопроект Валери Буайе и других ее коллег о транспозиции права сообщества по борьбе против расизма и о наказании отрицания факта Геноцида армян.

Как сообщается на сайте Национального Собрания Франции, в тексте документа предусматривает наказание за оспаривание факта геноцидов, признанных законом.  Наказания в виде одного года лишения свободы и штрафа в 45 тысяч евро будут применяться к тем, кто будет оспаривать или чрезмерно преуменьшать факт Геноцида армян 1915 года, официально признанного Францией на уровне закона 29 января 2001 года.

Отметим, что во время своей поездки в Армению в октябре текущего года президент Франции Николя Саркози подчеркнул важность признания Турцией Геноцида армян. Он предупредил, что во французском государстве может быть принят закон, по которому отрицание тех событий будет считаться преступлением.

Геноцид армян в Османской империи с 1915 по 1923 гг. в ходе которого в Западной Армении и других частях Османской империи было уничтожено 1,5 млн. армян, является первым геноцидом ХХ века. Геноцид армян признали 44 штата США. Геноцид также признан со стороны 21 страны, среди которых Канада, Аргентина, Швейцария, Россия, Бельгия, Франция, Польша, Словакия, Нидерланды, Уругвай, Греция, Кипр, Ватикан, Швеция и др. В своей резолюции, принятой 18 июня 1987 года, Европарламент признал факт Геноцида армян в Османской империи и потребовал от Совета Европы оказать давление на правительство Турции с целью признания последней Геноцида армян.

Dozens participate in new Armenia-Azerbaijan dialogue process as societies prepare for the signing of historic peace agreement

The governments of Armenia and Azerbaijan have recently agreed the text of a historic peace agreement that ends years of animosity and warfare. The agreement is expected to be signed soon. LINKS Europe, which has a long history of engagement with the process of peace in the region, recently launched a new Armenia-Azerbaijan dialogue format in the framework of the European Union's EU4Peace initiative. In the last two weeks dozens of Armenians and Azerbaijanis, including academics, students, civil society activists, journalists and other professionals, many of them young, were involved. The work is organised in five thematic groups focusing on peace and security, connectivity, environment, governance and gender and equality and in phase 2 of the project, which has just ended, around fifty participants took part in in-person and online meetings, and more than twenty others were involved indirectly. The Chairpersons of the five thematic groups met in Vilnius, 3-6 July to launch the third phase of the program. The five thematic groups are now working on separate reports, which are expected to be finished in November and presented to the two governments and other stakeholders. The reports will outline a vision, up to 2040.
