Армянский политолог:

В ближайшие пять лет никаких изменений в урегулировании нагорно-карабахского конфликта не произойдет. Подобное мнение сегодня на пресс- конференции в Ереване выразил политолог Александр Манасян.

"2012 год Азербайджан будет использовать для имитаций и игр в карабахском урегулировании, и возможно будут приняты новые резолюции на международном уровне, целью которых будет достижение благоприятных позиций в международных структурах.  Исходя из этого, мы не должны ожидать решения нагорно-карабахского конфликта в ближайшие пять лет",- отметил Манасян.

Политолог заметил, что НКК является одним из важнейших в регионе конфликтов и страны сопредседатели МГ ОБСЕ заинтересованы в его мирном разрешении. При таких условиях, по мнению политолога, баланс военных сил дает возможность НКР укрепить свои позиции на уровне международного сообщества, постепенно достигнув статуса независимого государства. Он также заметил, что страны сопредседатели Минской группы не допустят реализации политических хитростей со стороны Турции в урегулировании НКК, понимая, что основным препятствием в разрешении конфликта является именно Турция в отсутствие которой конфликт может разрешится более быстро и эффективно.

Напомним, что начало карабахскому конфликту было положено в 1988 году, после заявления преимущественно населенного армянами Нагорного Карабаха о выходе из состава Азербайджана. С 12 мая 1994 года после вступления в силу трехстороннего соглашения о перемирии в зоне конфликта прекращены военные действия. Соглашение об установлении режима прекращения огня соблюдается до сих пор. С 1992 года по сей день ведутся переговоры по мирному урегулированию конфликта в рамках Минской группы ОБСЕ, сопредседателями которой являются США, Россия и Франция.

Dozens participate in new Armenia-Azerbaijan dialogue process as societies prepare for the signing of historic peace agreement

The governments of Armenia and Azerbaijan have recently agreed the text of a historic peace agreement that ends years of animosity and warfare. The agreement is expected to be signed soon. LINKS Europe, which has a long history of engagement with the process of peace in the region, recently launched a new Armenia-Azerbaijan dialogue format in the framework of the European Union's EU4Peace initiative. In the last two weeks dozens of Armenians and Azerbaijanis, including academics, students, civil society activists, journalists and other professionals, many of them young, were involved. The work is organised in five thematic groups focusing on peace and security, connectivity, environment, governance and gender and equality and in phase 2 of the project, which has just ended, around fifty participants took part in in-person and online meetings, and more than twenty others were involved indirectly. The Chairpersons of the five thematic groups met in Vilnius, 3-6 July to launch the third phase of the program. The five thematic groups are now working on separate reports, which are expected to be finished in November and presented to the two governments and other stakeholders. The reports will outline a vision, up to 2040.
