США ПРОДОЛЖАТ ПОЛНОЦЕННОЕ СОДЕЙСТВИЕ РАЗРЕШЕНИЮ НАГОРНО-КАРАБАХСКОГО КОНФЛИКТА

США как сопредседатель Минской группы ОБСЕ продолжит свое полноценное содействие достижению согласия между сторонами нагорно-карабахского конфликта и разрешению проблемы, сказала госсекретарь США Хилари Клинтон во время встречи с главой МИД Армении Эдвардом Налбандяном.

"Урегулирование нагорно-карабахской проблемы возможно исключительно мирным путем и отметил", - сказала Клинтон, сообщает в пятницу "Новости-Армения" со ссылкой на пресс-службу МИД Армении.

Конфликт между двумя южно-кавказскими странами возник в 1988 году ввиду территориальных претензий Армении к Азербайджану. Нагорный Карабах и семь прилегающих к нему районов - 20 процентов территории Азербайджана - находятся под оккупацией Вооруженных сил Армении. В мае 1994 года стороны достигли режима прекращения огня, и до сих пор под эгидой Минской группы ОБСЕ и при сопредседательстве России, Франции и США ведутся пока еще безуспешные мирные переговоры.

Принятые Советом Безопасности ООН четыре резолюции по освобождению оккупированного Нагорно-Карабахского региона и прилегающих к нему территорий до сих пор не выполняются Арменией.

The Thai government said it had been told by Malaysia that Cambodian Prime Minister Hum Manet would also attend. At least 33 soldiers and civilians have been killed while thousands of Thai and Cambodian nationals have been displaced since border fighting broke out on 24 July.
