Радик Исаев принес первое золото сборной Азербайджана на Олимпийских играх в Рио

Азербайджан наконец-то завоевал свою первую золотую медаль на летних Олимпийских играх в Рио.

Азербайджанский борец по тхэквондо Радик Исаев победил Абдулразака Иссуфу из Нигера со счетом 6:2 и выиграл золото в категорий среди мужчин более 80кг.

Радик Исаев также стал первым азербайджанским тхэквондистом, завоевавшим олимпийское золото в этом виде спорта.

Бронзовые медали достались спортсмену из Южной Кореи Донгмином Ча и Махама Чо из Великобритании.

В целом за всю историю участия Азербайджана в Олимпийских играх в качестве независимого государства после распада СССР в 1991 году это золото, завоеванное Исаевым, стало 15 золотой медалью страны. В Азербайджане любители спорта ждали этого золото долго, так что победу Исаева встретили очень радостно.

До сих пор на играх в Рио Азербайджан помимо золото завоевал четыре серебряные и десять бронзовых медалей.

LINKS Europe has successfully completed the first phase of its project to develop the Armenia-Azerbaijan dialogue as part of its commitment within the EU4Peace III programme, funded by the European Union. In this first phase, which lasted from September 2024 to April 2025, LINKS Europe conducted an assessment of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations and mobilised the personnel necessary for delivering the project output. LINKS Europe Foundation is pleased to announce the names of the chairs/co-chairs of the five thematic groups within the initiative.
