Папа призывает к глобальному прекращению огня

Папа Франциск в воскресенье поддержал призыв Генерального секретаря Организации Объединенных Наций Антонио Гутерриша к глобальному прекращению огня, чтобы мир мог сосредоточиться на борьбе с пандемией коронавируса.

Выступая по случаю своего еженедельного благословения из папской библиотеки вместо площади Святого Петра из-за карантина в Италии, Фрэнсис особо упомянул обращение Гутерриса, сделанное в ходе виртуальной пресс-конференции в понедельник.

В Библиотеке Апостольского дворца Папа сказал, что он присоединяется ко всем тем, кто сделал этот призыв, и пригласил всех "последовать его примеру, прекратив все формы военных действий, поощряя создание коридоров для гуманитарной помощи, открытости для дипломатии и внимание тем, кто оказался в уязвимом положении".

"Пусть наша совместная борьба с пандемией заставит всех признать огромную необходимость укрепления братских и сестринских связей как членов одной человеческой семьи", - сказал Папа.

"В частности, пусть это вдохновит на новое обязательство преодолеть соперничество между лидерами наций и вовлеченными сторонами. Конфликты не разрешаются путем войны".

Антагонизм и разногласия, подчеркнул Папа Франциск, "должны быть преодолены путем диалога и конструктивного поиска мира".

"The skies are calm, the guns are silent, the sirens are still and the sun rises on a Holy Land that is finally at peace," Trump told the Knesset, Israel's parliament, saying a "long nightmare" for both Israelis and Palestinians was over.
