Глава МИД Италии посещает Баку в рамках своего визита на Южный Кавказ

В понедельник (7 ноября), министр иностранных дел Италии, Паоло Джентилони, провел встречу с президентом Азербайджана, Ильхамом Алиевым, вскоре после прибытия в Баку в рамках поездки на Южный Кавказ.

Ранее Паоло Джентилони посетил Тбилиси, где провел встречи с официальнми лицами Грузии, в том числе с премьер-министром Георгием Квирикашвили. В ходе переговоров с руководством этой страны глава МИД Италии выразил полную поддержку суверенитету Грузии, её территориальной целостности и евро-атлантическим устремлениям. Премьер-министр Грузии, Георгий Квирикашвили, сообщил что намерен посетить Италию в январе следующего года, и надеется, что поездка станет стимулом для "новых экономических и культурных отношений" между двумя странами.

Обе стороны заявили, что несмотря на нынешние тесные двусторонние связи во многих секторах, существует "огромный потенциал" для улучшения отношений как в экономической сфере, так и в сфере туризма.

В Баку Паоло Джентилони также намерен встретиться и с другими азербайджанскими официальными лицами перед тем, как отправиться в Ереван.
