В Ереване представлены результаты мониторинга по выполнению обязательств Армении положений программы ЕС "Восточное партнерство"

В Ереване 16 апреля состоялась презентация мониторинга о выполнении Арменией обязательств в рамках программы ЕС "Восточное партнерство". В частности был представлен доклад под заголовком "Сотрудничество во имя открытого общества", составленного Фондом открытого общества Армении.

В докладе представлены реформы в области судопроизводства и таможенной системы в Армении. Помимо этого доклад затронул реформы, связанные с защитой прав человека в Армении, свободой деятельности СМИ. Центральное место в докладе заняла борьба против коррупции.

По словам директора Фонда открытого общества Армении Ларисы Минасян, со дня проведения мониторинга зафиксирован прогресс во всех сферах, но многочисленные недостатки и по-прежнему и изъяны по-прежнему дают о себе знать. При этом все составители доклада единогласно подтвердили, что в Армении деятельность гражданских учреждений не соответствует демократическим стандартам.

На это заместитель министра иностранных дел Армении Зограб Мнацаканян возразил составителям доклада, заметив, что в докладе есть предложения и положения, с которыми он категорически не согласен. При этом замминистра выразил уверенность, что после дискуссии они обязательно найдут общий язык и придут к желанному взаимовыгодному итогу.
Инициатива "Восточное партнерство" была выдвинута Польшей и Швецией и утверждена на саммите ЕС в Брюсселе в 2008 году, официально учреждена в мае 2009 года в Праге. Цель программы - сближение ЕС с Украиной, Арменией, Молдавией, Грузией, Азербайджаном и Белоруссией без их принятия в состав ЕС. Программа предусматривает значительное повышение уровня политического взаимодействия, широкую интеграцию бывших советских республик в экономику ЕС, увеличение объемов предоставляемой им финансовой помощи и усиление энергетической безопасности.

Dozens participate in new Armenia-Azerbaijan dialogue process as societies prepare for the signing of historic peace agreement

The governments of Armenia and Azerbaijan have recently agreed the text of a historic peace agreement that ends years of animosity and warfare. The agreement is expected to be signed soon. LINKS Europe, which has a long history of engagement with the process of peace in the region, recently launched a new Armenia-Azerbaijan dialogue format in the framework of the European Union's EU4Peace initiative. In the last two weeks dozens of Armenians and Azerbaijanis, including academics, students, civil society activists, journalists and other professionals, many of them young, were involved. The work is organised in five thematic groups focusing on peace and security, connectivity, environment, governance and gender and equality and in phase 2 of the project, which has just ended, around fifty participants took part in in-person and online meetings, and more than twenty others were involved indirectly. The Chairpersons of the five thematic groups met in Vilnius, 3-6 July to launch the third phase of the program. The five thematic groups are now working on separate reports, which are expected to be finished in November and presented to the two governments and other stakeholders. The reports will outline a vision, up to 2040.
