Политолог: Мнимые дивиденды, которые приобрел Азербайджан в результате помилования Сафарова, вскоре обернутся против него

Инцидент с помилованием азербайджанского убийцы Рамиля Сафарова стал ярким подтверждением общеизвестного факта  >- армяне Нагорно- Карабахской Республики никогда не смогут жить в составе Азербайджана, поскольку армянофобия является основой государственной азербайджанской политики. Подобное мнение 10 сентября на пресс-конференции в Ереване выразил  директор армянского филиала Института стран СНГ, политолог Александр Маркаров.

По его словам, кажущиеся дивиденды, которые приобрел Азербайджан в результате экстрадиции и помилования Сафарова, вскоре обернутся против него самого, поскольку помилование убийцы стало нарушением как международного права и обязательств, так и азербайджанского законодательства, что еще раз демонстрирует атмосферу беззакония в стране. Политолог заметил, что в ходе судебного разбирательства в Венгрии уровень IQ Сафарова оказался на минимальном уровне, и, героизируя подобного человека, азербайджанское общество показывает свое истинное лицо.

В свою очередь, директор Армянского центра национальных и стратегических исследований Манвел Саркисян отметил, что ничего нового в шагах Азербайджана нет.На взгляд эксперта, Баку продолжает ту политику, которую проводил последние 20 лет, однако наиболее примечательной является реакция армянской стороны. " Эта реакция была слабой. В частности, это касается нежелания депутатов в своем заявлении коснуться темы признания Арменией Нагорного Карабаха", - отметил он. При этом Саркисян считает подобную позицию депутатов проявлением слабости и нерешительности, нежеланием брать на себя ответственность.  Эксперт заметил, что признание НКР не помешало бы продолжению переговорного процесса по урегулированию карабахского конфликта. "После встречи в Казани переговоров по сути нет, это просто контакты сторон с международным сообществом", - заявил он.

Dozens participate in new Armenia-Azerbaijan dialogue process as societies prepare for the signing of historic peace agreement

The governments of Armenia and Azerbaijan have recently agreed the text of a historic peace agreement that ends years of animosity and warfare. The agreement is expected to be signed soon. LINKS Europe, which has a long history of engagement with the process of peace in the region, recently launched a new Armenia-Azerbaijan dialogue format in the framework of the European Union's EU4Peace initiative. In the last two weeks dozens of Armenians and Azerbaijanis, including academics, students, civil society activists, journalists and other professionals, many of them young, were involved. The work is organised in five thematic groups focusing on peace and security, connectivity, environment, governance and gender and equality and in phase 2 of the project, which has just ended, around fifty participants took part in in-person and online meetings, and more than twenty others were involved indirectly. The Chairpersons of the five thematic groups met in Vilnius, 3-6 July to launch the third phase of the program. The five thematic groups are now working on separate reports, which are expected to be finished in November and presented to the two governments and other stakeholders. The reports will outline a vision, up to 2040.
