Военный парад по случаю 100-летия ВС Азербайджана

Во вторник (26 июня) на главных улицах Баку состоялся большой военный парад, посвященный 100-летию создания Вооруженных сил Азербайджана.

Более четырех тысяч военнослужащих, представляющих все подразделения вооруженных сил, а также десятки танков, артиллерийские вооружения, ракетные системы и беспилотные летательные аппараты были продемонстрированы гостям на VIP трибунах во главе с президентом Ильхамом Алиевым и вице-президентом Мехрибан Алиевой. Затем перед трибунами пролетели боевые вертолеты и самолеты ВВС Азербайджана. 14 судов, тральщиков и патрульных катеров Военно-морского флота Азербайджана также стояли на якоре в Бакинской гавани в честь праздника.

В своем выступлении в начале парада президент Ильхам Алиев напомнил, что Азербайджан обрел независимость в 1918 году, но потерял его два года спустя, что и показало, что защита независимости страны столь же трудна, как и достижение этой независимости в первую очередь. Президент Алиев напомнил о войне с Арменией в начале 1990-х годов и сказал, что война еще не завершена, завершена только первая часть войны. "Азербайджан никогда не примет оккупацию своих территорий и восстановит свою территориальную целостность", - сказал президент.

Говоря об операции, проведенной объединенными силами армии в Нахчыване в последние недели, президент сказал: "Проведены масштабные инженерно-разведывательные работы. Нахчыванская операция была проведена с высоким профессионализмом. Азербайджанские военнослужащие снова проявили героизм и мужество. Мы освободили стратегические высоты. Сегодня мы контролируем стратегические коммуникации и дороги. Нахчыванская операция еще раз показала, что азербайджанская армия - сильная армия, она также показала, что мы можем и выполняем любые задачи с большим профессионализмом. Азербайджанская армия всегда должна быть готова восстановить территориальную целостность нашей страны".

Dozens participate in new Armenia-Azerbaijan dialogue process as societies prepare for the signing of historic peace agreement

The governments of Armenia and Azerbaijan have recently agreed the text of a historic peace agreement that ends years of animosity and warfare. The agreement is expected to be signed soon. LINKS Europe, which has a long history of engagement with the process of peace in the region, recently launched a new Armenia-Azerbaijan dialogue format in the framework of the European Union's EU4Peace initiative. In the last two weeks dozens of Armenians and Azerbaijanis, including academics, students, civil society activists, journalists and other professionals, many of them young, were involved. The work is organised in five thematic groups focusing on peace and security, connectivity, environment, governance and gender and equality and in phase 2 of the project, which has just ended, around fifty participants took part in in-person and online meetings, and more than twenty others were involved indirectly. The Chairpersons of the five thematic groups met in Vilnius, 3-6 July to launch the third phase of the program. The five thematic groups are now working on separate reports, which are expected to be finished in November and presented to the two governments and other stakeholders. The reports will outline a vision, up to 2040.
