В Ереване открылся саммит франкоязычных стран

Сегодня утром в Ереване открылся самый большой в истории Армении саммит иностранных лидеров. На саммите «Франкофония», организации франкоязычных стран, были заслушаны речи президента Франции Эмманюэля Макрона, премьер-министра Канады Джастина Трюдо и других лидеров, собравшихся в столице Армении на саммит.

В ходе своего выступления на саммите президент Франции Макрон сказал, что не только французский язык объединяет страны франкофонии, но и общее видение мира, братства и справедливости. Французский президент сказал, что сегодня в Ереване собралась большая большая семья, которая включает в себя все континенты. "Мы все принадлежим к этой семье и не имеем того же цвета кожи, наши боги не имеют одинаковых имен, некоторые не верят в Бога. Мы живем в разных климатических условиях, наши песни не похожи. У нас также были раны, которые только начинают заживать. Тем не менее, эта разнообразная семья объединена вокруг одного языка. Мы воспринимаем и выражаем этот язык различно, однако мы все понимаем друг друга. Этот язык не принадлежит никому, он наш. Этот язык смог принять наши мысли. Наше общение выражается не только этим языком, но и нашим видением, адресованным миру. Наше видение регулярно пересматривается и обновляется. Братство, мир и справедливость являются основой основ нашей организации".

Многие лидеры, выступившие на саммите, подчеркнули важность работы с молодежью и необходимость более активного взаимодействия с ней.

Многие из присутствовавших лидеров почтили память французско-армянского деятеля культуры Шарля Азнавура, который умер на прошлой неделе.

Dozens participate in new Armenia-Azerbaijan dialogue process as societies prepare for the signing of historic peace agreement

The governments of Armenia and Azerbaijan have recently agreed the text of a historic peace agreement that ends years of animosity and warfare. The agreement is expected to be signed soon. LINKS Europe, which has a long history of engagement with the process of peace in the region, recently launched a new Armenia-Azerbaijan dialogue format in the framework of the European Union's EU4Peace initiative. In the last two weeks dozens of Armenians and Azerbaijanis, including academics, students, civil society activists, journalists and other professionals, many of them young, were involved. The work is organised in five thematic groups focusing on peace and security, connectivity, environment, governance and gender and equality and in phase 2 of the project, which has just ended, around fifty participants took part in in-person and online meetings, and more than twenty others were involved indirectly. The Chairpersons of the five thematic groups met in Vilnius, 3-6 July to launch the third phase of the program. The five thematic groups are now working on separate reports, which are expected to be finished in November and presented to the two governments and other stakeholders. The reports will outline a vision, up to 2040.
