Страны Южного Кавказа противостоят коронавирусу; число случаев достигло 64

В Армении, Азербайджане и Грузии продолжаются усилия по контролю распространения коронавируса COVID-19. По мере того, как эпицентр распространения вируса перешел в Европу, три страны Южного Кавказа продолжают вводить меры по контролю людей, прибывающих из-за рубежа, в то же время контролируя зарегистрированные случаи уже в стране.

Власти Армении сообщают, что число случаев в стране составляет 15. По причинам, которые еще не ясны в пятницу, было объявлено, что премьер-министр Никол Пашинян и его семья были самоизолированы в месте около Севана и были проверены на коронавирус. Результаты тестов ожидаются позже в субботу.

Азербайджан заявляет, что на данный момент в стране у 19 человек диагностирован этот вирус, но шестеро уже выздоровели и отправлены домой.

В субботу Грузия сообщила о 5 новых случаях коронавируса в стране, в результате чего их число достигло 30, большинство из которых связано с людьми, которые недавно побывали в Италии.

Все три страны региона ввели ограничения на передвижения с рядом других стран Европы и Азии. Вчера они также ввели ограничения на передвижение между ними. Граница между Арменией и Азербайджаном в любом случае закрыта из-за карабахского конфликта, но границы между Арменией и Грузией, а также Азербайджаном и Грузией в обычное время очень загружены.

Trump says Ukraine should give up land for peace as preparations start for US-Russia summit

U.S. President  Donald Trump said that the Donbas region in the east of Ukraine should be “cut up,” leaving most of it in Russian hands, to end a  war that has dragged on for nearly four years. Trump has edged back in the direction of pressing Ukraine to give up on retaking land it has lost to Russia, in exchange for an end to the war. Following a phone call last week, the Russian and US leaders Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump announced they would meet in Budapest for talks on resolving the war in Ukraine, triggered by Moscow's all-out offensive in February 2022. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US counterpart Marco Rubio spoke on Monday 20 October to discuss preparations for the summit, and are expected to meet in person to finalise details. However, the Kremlin stated on Tuesday 21 October that there was "no precise time frame" for the summit even though Trump stated that the meeting with Putin could take place within two weeks.
