Россия на месяц становится председателем в Совете Безопасности ООН

Россия в воскресенье (1 сентября) приняла председательство в Совете Безопасности ООН. Председательство в Совете чередуется ежемесячно между 15 государствами-членами в алфавитном порядке. Это событие совпало с открытием 74-й сессии Генеральной Ассамблеи ООН, в рамках которой мировые лидеры прибудут в Нью-Йорк, чтобы представить концепцию своей страны в международных отношениях.

В сентябре запланировано два очередных заседания Совета Безопасности, но кроме них могут быть созваны и другие заседания в зависимости от обстоятельств. Ожидается, что министр иностранных дел России Сергей Лавров примет участие в некоторых заседаниях Совета в рамках своей работы в ООН в этом месяце.
