По словам Эрдогана, антиамериканские настроения в Турции растут

Антиамериканские настроения в турецкой общественности достигли своего пика из-за поддержки США Отрядов народной самообороны (YPG) в Сирии. Об этом сказал президент Турции на фоне текущих переговоров между двумя странами, направленных на снижение напряженности в двусторонних отношениях.

По мнению Эрдогана, в бюджете США выделенны средства на поддержку YPG для приобретения бронемашин и оружия.

"Что мы за союзники?" - спросил Эрдоган государственного секретаря США Рекса Тиллерсона в ходе недавнего разговора на февральской встрече в Анкаре.

"Когда я показал ему все это на экране, он пожаловался на то, что 'антиамериканские настроения в Турции растут из-за пропаганды по телевидению'. На самом деле это так - антиамериканские настроения растут, хотя я не имею к этому никакого отношения", - сказал Эрдоган.

Заявление Эрдогана прозвучало в момент, когда в Вашингтоне совместный турецко-американский комитет продолжает переговоры в попытке разрешить нерешенные проблемы между двумя союзниками. Во время визита Тиллерсона в Турцию 15-16 февраля было создано три механизма между Анкарой и Вашингтоном в целях содействия нормализации двусторонних отношений и решению вопросов, связанных с Сирией, террористической организацией FETÖ и Ираком.
