Турция в 2014 потратила $13.2 млрд на оборону.

Как заявил министр обороны Исмет Йылмаз в парламенте, 2 ноября, в ответ на парламентский запрос от депутата оппозиционной Партии националистического движения (ПНД), расходы Турции на оборону в 2014 году составили 29.4 млрд турецких лир ($13.2 млрд), сообщает Hurriyet Daily News.

Турция в 2014 году потратила на оборону около 1.71% своего валового внутреннего продукта (ВВП), что меньше того же показателя за 2002 год (3.5%) заявил Йылмаз, добавив, что в 2014 году оборонный бюджет составил 3,7 процента от общего бюджета.

Около половины военного бюджета страны идет на расходы по персоналу: заработные платы, пособий и пенсионные выплаты, добавил он.

По словам Йылмаза, военные расходы Турции на душу населения в 2013 году составили 474 лир ($213). Он также сообщил, что экспорт военной промышленности Турции составил $1.4 млрд в 2014 году, в то время как импорт составил $1.3 млрд.

Турция ведет переговоры по закупке ПВО и противоракетных систем с местными производителями, с поставщиками из Китая и Европы. Анкара планирует потратить около $70 млрд. на закупку военной техники до 2023 года.
