Бако Саакян:

 

Без непосредственного участия Нагорно-Карабахской Республики урегулирование карабахского конфликта невозможно. Подобное мнение в ходе состоявшегося заседания Ученого совета Российско-армянского (Славянского) университета, посвященного 20-летию независимости Нагорного Карабаха, выразил президент НКР Бако Саакян.

"Мы многократно озвучивали свою позицию, заявляя, что без участия НКР решение карабахской проблемы исключено. Сегодня нашу позицию разделяют и страны-посредники, что наглядно проявляется в их публичных выступлениях. Нагорный Карабах, начиная с 1994 года, был стороной переговорного процесса, но потерял этот статус из-за неконструктивной позиции и несмолкаемой истерии официального Баку. Однако, я более чем убежден, что НКР обязательно станет полноправной стороной переговоров, и Азербайджану не останется ничего иного как с этим смириться", - заявил президент НКР.

Вместе с тем Саакян заверил собравшихся, что высшее руководство Армении постоянно информирует руководство НКР о перипетиях переговорного процесса, отметив, однако, недостаточность этого для полноценного разрешения карабахской проблемы. При этом, президент НКР особо подчеркнул, что не доверять Армении нет никаких причин, однако сама суть конфликта такова, что без участия Нагорного Карабаха решения достичь невозможно.

The talks come the day after both attended a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the nearby Chinese city of Tianjin, and the day before a grand Chinese military parade in Beijing to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
