Армянский эксперт:

Армения и Карабах должны вести более активную внешнюю политику в ООН. Об этом журналистам заявил директор Центра региональных исследований Ричард Киракосян.

По его словам, армянская внешнеполитическая деятельность в ООН “слабая”. “На предстоящей сессии Генассамблеи ООН будет обсуждаться вопрос признания независимости Палестины и затрагиваться вопросы новых независимых государств - Южного Судана, Косово, однако не будет никаких обсуждений или резолюций по Карабаху, и это вина Армении и НКР”, - подчеркнул Гирагосян. Он добавил, что Армении необходимо быть более активной в ООН, особенно когда членом Совета Безопасности является Турция.

“Армянская внешняя политика носит больше реактивный, а не активный характер. Будучи маленькой страной, мы должны не реагировать на последствия, а быть более инициативными, креативными и проактивными во внешней политике”, - отметил эксперт. Он выразил также критику работой посольства Армении в США, и, в частности, работой главы миссии. “Армяне обычно шумные, а от нашего посла никто и звука не слышал”, - отметил Гирагосян.  

Говоря о возможности признания НКР со стороны Армении, Гирагосян отметил, что “сегодня признание Нагорно-Карабахской Республики Ереваном было бы ошибкой, и принесло бы больше время, чем пользы”. «Кроме того, Армения сама недостаточно независима, чтобы признавать Карабах”, – отметил эксперт.  

Гирагосян подчеркнул, что армянская дипломатия в карабахской проблеме должна быть такой же активной, как и в вопросе признания Геноцида армян в Османской империи.
