Приток иностранных инвестиций в экономику Армении (без учета госуправления и кредитов, полученных банковской системой) за I полугодие 2011 года составил $421.9 млн с годовым ростом на 28,8%. Как сообщили АрмИнфо в Национальной статистической службе Армении, в структуре поступивших иностранных инвестиций на прямые иностранные инвестиции (ПИИ) пришлось $349.5 млн с годовым ростом на 58,6%.

За I полугодие 2011 года наибольшая доля иностранных инвестиций (34,15% или $144 млн) и ПИИ (38,79% или $135.6 млн) пришлась на производство базовых металлов. Затем следуют сфера телекоммуникаций, куда в отчетный период поступило 17,17% или $72.4 млн иностранных инвестиций и 20,25% или $70.8 илн ПИИ, сфера электро- и газоснабжения

- 8,19% или $34.5 млн иностранных инвестиций и 9,88% или $34.5 млн ПИИ, добыча металлической руды - 5,56% или $23.5 млн иностранных инвестиций и 2,67% или $9.3 млн ПИИ, а в сферу воздушного транспорта было направлено 5,35% или $22.6 млн иностранных инвестиций.

В пятерку лидеров по общему объему инвестиций в Армению входят Россия

- $206.6 млн (с годовым ростом на 76,8%), из коих $193.7 млн ПИИ (годовой рост в 2,3 раза), Франция - $68.1 млн (полностью ПИИ с годовым спадом на 6,3%), США - $35.2 млн (с годовым ростом в 2,8 раз), из коих $19.5 млн ПИИ (годовой рост в 5,1 раз), Великобритания

- $22.6 млн (с годовым ростом в 8,5 раз), из коих $3.9 млн ПИИ (годовой рост  на 51,8%) и Германия - $13.2 млн (с годовым спадом на 8,6%), из коих $12.6 млн ПИИ (годовой спад на 12,3%).

Годовой рост общего объема инвестиций в Армению обеспечили семь стран: из лидеров Россия (за счет роста ПИИ), США (за счет роста ПИИ) и Великобритания, а также Кипр - в 3,1 раз за счет роста ПИИ до $10.8 млн, Канада - в 117,7 раз до $14.3 млн, Италия - на 0,3% до $3.7 млн, Люксембург - в 2,7 раз в основном за счет ПИИ (до $5.6 млн). В отчетный период стали поступать инвестиции в экономику Армении с Виргинских островов ($9.3 млн - полностью ПИИ), Сирии - $2.6 млн (полностью ПИИ), Швейцарии - $6.4 млн (из коих $0.3 млн - ПИИ), Дании ($367.1 тыс - полностью ПИИ), Украины - $35 тыс и Казахстана - $5.5 тыс. Наиболее значительно в годовом разрезе сократились инвестиции из Нидерландов (на 97,4%), Австрии (на 77,5%) и Аргентины (на 74,4%), а полностью прекратились из Венгрии и Финляндии.

Инвестиции из России пришлись в основном на сферу энергетики и газоснабжения, на производство базовых металлов, на сферу телекоммуникаций, а также на жилищное строительство, сферу быта, оптовую торговлю, на рынок недвижимости, сферу спорта и организации отдыха. Инвестиции из Франции в основном пришлись на сферу телекоммуникаций и   производство напитков. Весь объем инвестиций из Италии пришелся на рынок недвижимости, из Кипра - на оптовую и розничную торговлю и организацию отдыха, из Канады - на добычу металлической руды, и сюда же были полностью направлены инвестиции с Виргинских островов. Почти весь объем  инвестиций из Великобритании пришелся на розничную торговлю, а остальная часть - на производство напитков, куда направил полностью свои ПИИ также и Люксембург. Инвестиции из США были направлены в металлургическую промышленность, розничную торговлю, строительный сектор, в сферу консалтинговых и информационных услуг, в сферу компьютерных технологий, на финансовое посредничество и страхование, на научные исследования. Почти весь объем инвестиций из Германии пришелся на горнорудную промышленность и эксплуатацию открытых карьеров.

The ''Coalition of the  Willing''  of thirty five countries, has renewed its support of Ukriane, at a meeting in Kyiv, held on Ukraine's national day on 24 August, under the chairmanship of British Prime Minister,A ndy Burnham. Burnham has promised to keep up the pressure on Russia despite Moscow's "outrageous threats", on his first official visit to Ukraine as UK prime minister. Burnham met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and chaired his first meeting of the "coalition of the willing", set up by the UK and France under his predecessor Sir Keir Starmer. He said the coalition was "doing everything we can" while urging the US Congress to "ratchet up" economic pressure on Russia. The government has agreed to hand over blueprints for British-made components for the Scalp missile, a French version of the UK's Storm Shadow cruise missile - allowing Ukraine to produce the long-range weapon domestically. During the meeting with France and Ukraine, Burnham said allies were doing "everything we can" to "dig into our own stocks and help others dig into their stocks" of air defences to protect Ukraine. "This is the moment to keep up the pressure on Russia, the moment to squeeze their ability to fund this illegal war," Burnham said, praising the "strength" of the Ukrainian people. "Ukraine has been Europe's protector, not a drain on our security but the front line in keeping Europe safe." It comes after Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov criticised the UK's decision to share the missile blueprints. Peskov said it prevented "even the slightest progress" towards achieving peace. He told reporters on Monday that the Russian military was already gathering data to locate any missile production sites to destroy them. "Britain is involved in this war on the side of the Kyiv regime. Britain methodically and regularly adds fuel to the fire," he added. In response, Burnham said: "Who started the fire? That's the question, isn't it?" He added the issue of missile interceptors would be the main topic at the coalition of the willing meeting. Burnham chaired his first meeting of the "coalition of the willing" in Kyiv Burnham has been reaffirming the UK's backing for Kyiv in the wake of escalating Russian strikes on Ukraine in recent weeks - including one on a shopping centre on Friday that killed at least 16 people. In a joint statement after the meeting, Burnham and co-chairs French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said the group would aim to strength Kyiv's air defences "as a matter or urgent priority". They also condemned Moscow's "systemic and escalating strikes against Ukraine's cities, critical infrastructure and civilians" and pledged to "constrain Russia's war chest through sanctions and actions against the "shadow fleet". Today, commonspace.eu starts a new regular weekly series. THURSDAY INTERVIEW, conducted by Lauri Nikulainen, will host  persons who are thinkers, opinion shapers, and implementors in their countries and spheres. We start the series with an interview with Murad Muradov, a leading person in Azerbaijan's think tank community. He is also the first co-chair of the Action Committee for a new Armenian-Azerbaijani Dialogue. Last September he made history by being the first Azerbaijani civil society activist to visit Armenia after the 44 day war, and the start of the peace process. Speaking about this visit Murad Muradov said: "My experience was largely positive. My negative expectations luckily didn’t play out. The discussions were respectful, the panel format bringing together experts from Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Turkey was particularly valuable during the NATO Rose-Roth Seminar in Yerevan, and media coverage, while varied in tone, remained largely constructive. Some media outlets though attempted to represent me as more of a government mouthpiece than an independent expert, which was totally misleading.  Overall, I see these initiatives as important steps in rebuilding trust and normalising professional engagement. The fact that soon a larger Azerbaijani civil society visits to Armenia followed, reinforces the sense that this process is moving in the right direction."
