At the end of a tense week which saw Turkey's most senior generals resign, Prime Minister Recip Tayip Erdogan has clearly asserted the control of the civilian government over the military. After appointing a new leadership for the Armed Forces the government is now turning its attention back to a deteriorating security situation in the Kurdish areas.
